Alexandre Bigler joined the auction business in 2005 and brings over two decades of international experience to his role as Senior Vice President, Senior International Specialist, Head of Collections, Watches at Christie’s.
Following seven successful years as Head of Watches in Asia Pacific, Alexandre was appointed to his expanded global role in August 2026, recognising his exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and outstanding contribution to Christie’s success in the region.
In his new capacity, Alexandre plays a pivotal role in driving international business development across auctions and private sales, with a particular focus on sourcing exceptional private collections, securing landmark consignments, and strengthening relationships with the world's most prominent collectors. He also contributes his extensive market intelligence and commercial expertise to Christie's global strategy, enhancing its competitive position across key international markets.
Under his leadership, Christie’s established itself as Asia’s market leader in Watches for six consecutive years, from 2020 to 2025. During this period, he oversaw the presentation of 14 important private collections and achieved 77 auction records across live watch sales in Hong Kong, setting new benchmarks for the regional market.
Among his most notable achievements was the historic sale of the Patek Philippe reference 2523R with blue enamel dial, retailed by Gobbi Milano, which realised USD 9 million in November 2019. Offered within a 20th/21st Century Evening Sale, this landmark sale set the highest price ever achieved for a wristwatch at auction in Asia at the time.
Alexandre's leadership has also been instrumental in delivering exceptional commercial milestones, including the highest first-half watch auction total ever recorded in Asia of USD 56.9 million in 2023, the region's highest annual total of USD 87 million that same year, and a record autumn season total of USD 45 million in November 2025.
