Introduced in 2014, the Grönefeld Parallax Tourbillon 1912 was conceived with the objective of enhancing the practical functionality of the tourbillon in a wristwatch. The name Parallax refers to the apparent displacement of an object when viewed from different angles. Applied to timekeeping, this phenomenon can affect the precise reading of the central seconds hand against the seconds track depending on the position of the wearer's wrist. To eliminate this potential source of error, Grönefeld designed a highly three-dimensional dial with the raised seconds chapter ring positioned immediately beneath the central seconds hand, ensuring exceptional legibility and improved precision.

Powering the watch is the manufacture calibre G-03, an extraordinary movement distinguished not only by its exceptional hand-finishing but also by an ingenious hacking and reset mechanism. Constructed around a rhodium-plated German silver main plate with beautifully hand-polished stainless steel bridges, the movement exemplifies the brothers' uncompromising approach to high watchmaking. The crown operates through an innovative push-in system for winding and setting, with the selected function indicated by the sector display at 4 o'clock. When the setting mode is engaged, the flying tourbillon and central seconds hand stop when arriving at 12 o'clock, allowing the watch to be synchronised to a reference time with remarkable accuracy.

Produced in extremely limited numbers, the Parallax Tourbillon 1912 was made in just 28 examples in pink gold, 5 in platinum, a unique platinum piece with a black dial, and only 12 in stainless steel, as is the present timepiece. Celebrated for its originality, technical ingenuity, and outstanding craftsmanship, the model was honoured with the Tourbillon Watch Prize at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève, firmly establishing it as one of the most important independent tourbillon wristwatches of its generation.
