TIBET, XIIIE-XVIE SIÈCLE

Kadampa stupas are often mythologized as being associated with the great Indian master Atisha (c. 982-1054 CE) who established the Kadam school of Buddhism in Tibet. The form is characterized by its bell-shaped bottom, balustrade harmika which supports a raised conical spire, and parasol finial topped by a lotus bud. The style is always left ungilded.
