Born in Holland in 1823, Arnoud Wydeveld moved to the United States in 1853, taking with him the lessons of the Dutch old masters. He worked as a still-life painter, primarily depicting fruit, flowers, and fish. During his career, Wydeveld’s work was exhibited at the National Academy in New York, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and the Brooklyn Art Association.
