拍品专文

Jean Moise Pouzzait invented the lever escapement that bears his name in 1788. He was head of the first school of horology in Geneva. The extra large balance swings one second each way and the escape wheel usually carries a sweep center seconds hand. The slow action of the balance and excessive friction of the escapement caused it to be superceded by the lever escapement.
