MARK OF GOLDMSITHS AND SILVERSMITH COMPANY, LONDON, 1933
Oblong and on four bun feet, with moulded borders and two hinged bracket handles, with hinged double cover, engraved with initial 'G' within the Garter motto and with Royal duke's coronet above, the interior with two glass inkwells with silver covers and ebonised wood pen-well, one cover engraved with presentation, marked on side, covers and inkwell covers

The initial is that of The Prince George, later Duke of Kent (1902-1942).

The inscription reads 'Presented to His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent K.G. on the occasion of his admission to the freedom and livery of the Worshipful Company of Glaziers 29^t^h November 1935.'

The Duke was presented with the inkstand, which contained the freedom scroll, by the Master of the Company, his cousin Prince Alexander of Battenberg, 1st Marquess of Carisbrooke (1886-1960), eldest son of Princess Beatrice of Battenberg (1857-1944), youngest daughter of Queen Victoria (1818-1901).
