A CHINESE PORCELAIN FAMILLE ROSE QUADRILOBED 'ABSTINENCE' PLAQUE,
18TH-19TH CENTURY,
one side is inscribed in the center of an oval cartouche with the characters zhaijie (abstinence) within a gilt raised border and an outer field of lotus scroll on a pink ground, the reverse similarly decorated with the inscription is in Manchu
