Charles Labarre is also recorded as a painter at Doulton & Co. His work for Doulton, the monumental exhibition pieces 'The Dante Vase' and 'The Love Vase' were shown at the Chicago Columbian Exposition of 1893.

A PAIR OF FRENCH ORMOLU-MOUNTED SEVRES-STYLE PORCELAIN COBALT BLUE-GROUND VASES AND COVERS
LATE 19TH CENTURY, SPURIOUS BLUE INTERLACED L'S MARKS TO COVERS, SIGNED C. LABARRE AND C LABARRE S
Each with domed cover and waisted neck enriched in gilt and platinum with fully blooming lilies suspending swags of fruiting grapevine, flanked by upright acanthus and scroll handles with female-mask terminals, finely painted with a maiden attended by putti, the reverse with a landscape at sunset, on cast ribbon-tied wreath and square base suspending drapery
