Meiji period (late 19th century)
Set on a splayed foot and fitted with "ear" handles and designed in polychrome enamels and silvered-metal wires with large panels of birds among blossoming flowers, the square shoulder, foot, and area around the panels decorated with bands of floral lappets, stiff leaf bands and chrysanthemums, chrysanthemum finial; copper mounts
